Match.com offers a free 7-day trial to new members and is one of the few services of its type that does so. By “type” I am referring to the fact that Match.com allows you to contact any member that you want. Free trials and events are more common with the matchmaker type of service, such as eHarmony or Chemistry, where the members that you can contact are limited by the service itself. The fact that a service like Match.com offers [...]

Earlier this week (July 21st to be exact) marked the last day that any user of Yahoo! Personals could switch to Match.com, the service that will be taking over all the accounts that previously existed within the Yahoo! service.
Yahoo! Personals is the first service I ever paid for when I started dating online. I never had success with this service and as I discuss in my online dating guide, I think it may have had to do with the fact [...]

According to a new Match.com commercial I’ve been seeing lately, 1 in 5 relationships are now started through online dating services. Still, even with that fact, there are a large number of singles who believe that online dating does not work, or at least not for them. With that in mind, I wanted to post a challenge to all of the doubters. I really believe that people who feel that online dating doesn’t work fall into one of [...]

The cost of Match.com is not too expensive compared to many online dating services. The subscription prices are all based on different time ranges you sign up for. The longer you sign up for, the less you pay per month of using the service. Match.com also offers two versions of its 6 month subscription plan: one with the 6 month guarantee and one without. My opinion on these two plans is that if you are going to sign up for [...]

It has been recently announced that Match.com will become the official online dating site for Yahoo!. As a part of this change, Yahoo! Personals will be offering its current members the opportunity to move to a new co-branded dating service that will be called “Match.com on Yahoo!”.

Is eHarmony or Match.com significantly better than the other? In my previous articles I discussed Match.com in great detail and then I did the same with eHarmony. In this article I will compare the two services and make recommendations on which would be the best based on certain situations. Match.com and eHarmony are obviously similar in their goal: to help you find a great relationship. However, they help you accomplish this with very different approaches. Both of these services are [...]

In this three-part series, I’m going to discuss in detail Match.com, eHarmony, and finally I will compare these services to determine which is the “better” of the two. In this article, I’ll be describing Match.com from the ground up.
Creating Your Profile at Match.com
When you visit Match.com, you’ll be presented with a form to search for singles where you can enter simple details, such as if you are a man looking for a woman, etc. This is actually part of the [...]

Below is a chart listing online dating site prices. This table has been created to be used as a reference and to give singles an idea of how much each dating service might cost. These prices may change at any time so be sure to verify the actual cost before you subscribe to any service.
Notes on Pricing
Keep in mind that services that charge more often have earned the right to do so. For example, even though eHarmony prices are some [...]

Recently I’ve received quite a few questions from women on winks so I wanted to take the time to answer a few of those questions here. I’ve discussed my thoughts on winks in great detail but I wanted to cover these specific questions as well. I would recommend you read that article first as I cover the dynamics of winking in detail there. On to the questions:
Should I Wink at a Guy I Find Attractive?
My opinion on this one is [...]

What is a VIP email message? It stands for “Very Interested Person” and this is a new type of message that Match.com is testing at the time of this writing (right now only some users are currently able to use). You should see a “Use Your VIP Email” button when you’re writing an email if you’re in the group of users who have this feature enabled.
A VIP email has a few rules and features that make it significantly different than [...]

A friend of mine tried out the Match.com 6 Month Guaranteeprogram where if you don’t meet that “special someone”, you will get 6 months free. Unfortunately, when he came to the end of his six months they said he didn’t qualify even though, as far as he could tell, he did. I checked online for anyone else having this problem and found this post on RipoffReport.com. I decided to look into this program and the rules are (basically) as [...]
