On December 30, 2010, Match.com had a a federal lawsuit filed against it that alleges that the majority of profiles belong to scammers or are inactive members. Check this article out for the details. From the suit itself:
While Match purports to have “millions” of active subscribers, well over half of the profiles on its site belong to inactive members who have cancelled their membership or allowed their subscriptions to lapse and/or are fake and fraudulent profiles posted by scammers and [...]

How should I use Match.com? What’s the best way to approach using this service?
First, there is no perfect approach. However, I think that Match.com has some strength that its users can take advantage of to help improve their experience with the service.
Below, I’m going to discuss the communication process at Match.com and how I think you can use it to its fullest potential. If you are just signing up for Match.com now or are still considering doing so, I would [...]

The Match.com free trial offers 7 days for free to new members and is one of the few services of its type that does so. By “type” I am referring to the fact that Match.com allows you to contact any member that you want.
Free trials and events are more common with the matchmaker type of service, such as eHarmony or Chemistry, where the members that you can contact are limited by the service itself. The fact that a service [...]

Earlier this week (July 21st to be exact) marked the last day that any user of Yahoo! Personals could switch to Match.com, the service that will be taking over all the accounts that previously existed within the Yahoo! service.
Yahoo! Personals is the first service I ever paid for when I started dating online. I never had success with this service and as I discuss in my online dating guide, I think it may have had to do with the fact [...]

According to a new Match.com commercial I’ve been seeing lately, 1 in 5 relationships are now started through online dating services. Still, even with that fact, there are a large number of singles who believe that online dating does not work, or at least not for them. With that in mind, I wanted to post a challenge to all of the doubters. I really believe that people who feel that online dating doesn’t work fall into one of [...]

The Match.com cost of subscriptions is not too expensive compared to many online dating services. The subscription prices are all based on different time ranges you sign up for. The longer you sign up for, the lower the price you pay per month of using the service.

Match.com vs eHarmony – is one significantly better than the other? In my previous articles I discussed Match.com in great detail and then I did the same with eHarmony. In this article I will look at Match.com vs eHarmony, comparing the two services and make recommendations on which would be the best based on certain situations. Match.com and eHarmony are obviously similar in their goal: to help you find a great relationship. However, they help you accomplish this with very [...]

In this three-part series, I’m going to discuss in detail Match.com, eHarmony, and finally I will compare these services to determine which is the “better” of the two. In this article, I’ll be describing Match.com from the ground up.
Does Match.com Work?
I won’t spend too much time on this question mostly because I’m biased: I met my wife using Match.com. I understand if you’re having reservations about giving the service a try (I had the same reservations myself). But I can [...]

Below is a chart listing online dating site prices. This table has been created to be used as a reference and to give singles an idea of how much each dating service might cost. These prices may change at any time so be sure to verify the actual cost before you subscribe to any service.
Notes on Pricing
Keep in mind that services that charge more often have earned the right to do so. For example, even though eHarmony prices are some [...]
