eHarmony: Why Am I Getting Less New Matches?

I recently had a conversation with a reader where he reveals frustration with getting new eHarmony matches. He said that he had been receiving a dozen matches a day for over a month and then suddenly he didn’t get a match for 5 days. Understandably, he wanted to know where all his matches went!

How the eHarmony Matching Process Appears to Work

A lot about eHarmony is “hidden” from people like you and me but I have been either using their service [...]

This is the first free weekend in over 3 months with the last happening back at the end of May. I’ve receiving quite a [...]

Starting the Communication as a Woman on eHarmony

Some time ago I wrote an article discussing women making the first step in communication with online dating sites. My argument was that women should be encouraged to kick off the process, even if that only entailed some online “flirting”.

In that article, my main focus was sites like Match.com where the communication is started by one person by writing an email. However, recently I had a reader ask me a question regarding women making the first move with sites [...]

eHarmony Now Showing Last Active Date

File this one under “long over-due”: eHarmony will now start showing when your matches were last active on eHarmony (logged in).

I heard that this change would happening back in May but I’ve been waiting until I see this for myself to write on it. Unfortunately, only paying members are able to see the last active date. I’m not sure how I feel about that: eHarmony members are often more concerned with privacy but at the same time I felt [...]

eHarmony Free Weekend: May 27th to May 30th 2011

I just found out that eHarmony is having a free communication weekend from May 27th to May 30th, 2011. I hadn’t heard anything regarding this free event but when I looked at eHarmony’s twitter page this morning I saw they were promoting it (so perhaps this is the new place to watch for free event information).

Book Review: Dating the Second Time Around

Note: I received a copy of this book for free in order to review it. I received the eHarmony UK edition of the book but I believe this is exactly the same as the U.S. version.

Dating the Second Time Around is a book written for a very specific audience: those who have previously been in serious, committed relationships (normally marriage) who are now looking to date again. Based on the fact that eHarmony is associated with this book, I assumed [...]

New eHarmony Activity Feed

eHarmony has recently introduced a new activity feed which allows you to quickly see what is going on within your eHarmony account. This activity feed operates similarly to something you would expect to find in Facebook: it allows you to quickly see any updates or activities that have happened as well as tracking your recent communication exchanges.

eHarmony Review: Finding Compatibility Online

In this article I want to review eHarmony: what I like about the service, what I am not crazy about and some other areas that you should be aware of if you’re considering trying the service.

In this article I’ll be concentrating on reviewing eHarmony as a service and will not get into the nitty-gritty details of how the site works. If you’re interested in this information, I’ve already written an article covering these exact topics: How Does eHarmony Work?

A [...]

eHarmony Free Communication Jan 28 – Feb 28 2011

eHarmony will be offering a month long guided free communication event for its users in the U.S.

The eHarmony event begins on Friday, January 28th at 12am and runs until Monday, February 28th at 11:59PM. As far as I am aware, this is the longest event eHarmony has had for the US (they did have a 30 day even in the fall of 2010 but that was only for Canadian users).

Please note, as has [...]

Recap of Free Dating Events for 2010

There is a lot of opportunity to take advantage of free events from online dating services throughout the year. I wanted to use this article to review some of the free events that I covered in the last year to highlight the frequency of these free online dating events.

There are two services that have regular free events which I’ll be discussing: Chemistry.com and eHarmony. You can see my full list of free events that I’ve talked about [...]

eHarmony CEO Resigns

Earlier this week the CEO of eHarmony resigned for uncited reasons. At first I was surprised because I thought this was who the article was talking about:

Not the guy resigning…

Turns out that while Dr. Neil Clark Warren (pictured above) was the founder of eHarmony, he is not the CEO. The CEO was Gregory Waldorf, one of the founding investors.
