Free Events at Popular Dating Sites

Whenever I hear that one of the popular dating services is having a free event, I create a post about it and also contact my subscribers with this information. Because these events happen fairly frequently, I’ve created this page to keep track of the history of these events. With this information, you can make an educated guess as to when the next free event might be.

A couple of tips: I would recommend signing up for both Chemistry.com and eHarmony prior to hearing about a free event. This is because both services provide you matches over time and if you sign up for the service the day before the free weekend begins, you may not have many matches. Signing up ahead of time allows your account to gain matches so when the free weekend rolls around, in all likelyhood you’ll have more people to communicate with. For Lavalife (and other services like it), there’s no real reason to sign up ahead of time as you can contact as many people you want.

One other note: if you’ve found your way to this page in a search for a 100% totally free dating service, I would recommend OKCupid. While Plenty of Fish has more members, it is my opinion that it has a lot of bad practices and this service does not provide the opportunities for success that OKCupid does. That’s just my opinion. They’re both free so if you have doubts try them both and see if you agree.

As this chart shows, most months have several different events and on rare occasions some services even have multiple events in the same month. So if you’re broke, my recommendation is to primarily use OKCupid but also be aware that many of the most popular services have frequent reoccurring free events and many times you can make fairly reliable guesses as to when those events will be.
