I recently had a conversation with a reader where he reveals frustration with getting new eHarmony matches. He said that he had been receiving a dozen matches a day for over a month and then suddenly he didn’t get a match for 5 days. Understandably, he wanted to know where all his matches went!
How the eHarmony Matching Process Appears to Work
A lot about eHarmony is “hidden” from people like you and me but I have been either using their service [...]

Some time ago I wrote an article discussing women making the first step in communication with online dating sites. My argument was that women should be encouraged to kick off the process, even if that only entailed some online “flirting”.
In that article, my main focus was sites like Match.com where the communication is started by one person by writing an email. However, recently I had a reader ask me a question regarding women making the first move with sites [...]

File this one under “long over-due”: eHarmony will now start showing when your matches were last active on eHarmony (logged in).
I heard that this change would happening back in May but I’ve been waiting until I see this for myself to write on it. Unfortunately, only paying members are able to see the last active date. I’m not sure how I feel about that: eHarmony members are often more concerned with privacy but at the same time I felt [...]

From time to time I am contacted by people who are uncomfortable posting their photo for public viewing on a dating site. This is almost always related to their job: professors, teachers, or professionals with a strong presence online are examples that I have run into.

At times online dating can be difficult or at the very least frustrating. Many of us come to a point where we feel like we’re just not getting enough opportunity with the dating service we are using and begin to wonder about trying multiple dating services at once. Is this a good idea?

Recently, I had caught the very end of a TV show discussing ChristianCafe.com. I suppose it would be labeled an infomercial since it’s a half-hour show about one service but it was actually quite interesting. I’m sure it wouldn’t catch everyone’s interest but to a single Christian (or to a guy who writes about online dating in this case), it doesn’t have the feel of watching a long commercial.
Instead of the normal infomercial (you know, with people going crazy about [...]

Match.com has quickly become one of the most visited online dating sites on the Internet. First launched on April 21, 1995; it now has more than 15 million members (2009). With a 20% subscription rate the first three months of 2009, Match.com continues to grow at a rapid rate. Additionally, Match.com has 2.8 million members who met on the dating site and then later met offline and an average of 12 couples who met on Match.com become married or engaged [...]

eHarmony has recently introduced a new activity feed which allows you to quickly see what is going on within your eHarmony account. This activity feed operates similarly to something you would expect to find in Facebook: it allows you to quickly see any updates or activities that have happened as well as tracking your recent communication exchanges.

In this article I want to review eHarmony: what I like about the service, what I am not crazy about and some other areas that you should be aware of if you’re considering trying the service.
In this article I’ll be concentrating on reviewing eHarmony as a service and will not get into the nitty-gritty details of how the site works. If you’re interested in this information, I’ve already written an article covering these exact topics: How Does eHarmony Work?
A [...]

Several months ago I was contacted by the folks who run AdoptAGuy.com describing their site. When I checked the site out I really did think it was a great and fun idea but somehow writing about it kept slipping my mind.
Now that I’m finally getting around to it I imagine many people have already heard of this service. However, for those who haven’t AdoptAGuy is a dating service that mixes shopping with dating in what I would consider to be [...]

Early this year I had discussed a new dating service called How About We…. Basically this service takes a very unique approach: instead of a traditional profile you suggest a first date you would like to go on. People then decide if they want to talk with you based on your suggestion.
I really like this idea as it’s a fun idea and removes a lot of the pressure of online dating (especially with profile creation). The only issue I really [...]
