Update October 3rd: A reader has contacted me and confirmed that this free event only includes the guided communication steps. The email step is excluded. This makes the free event much less useful although not useless: if you can get several conversations to the email phase by the end of the event, it could help you decide if signing up would be worth it or not. It’s a small silver-lining but it’s still there.
eHarmony is having another free weekend, actually [...]

Single and tired of it? Has the process of looking for a girlfriend been working poorly? This site is devoted to encouraging and advising on online dating so it’s no surprise that I would suggest you give it a try if you haven’t.
Some men I talk to, especially those in their early 20s, all but refuse to consider online dating. Today I wanted to offer my view on using online dating for those guys who might [...]

If you are using eHarmony, you’ll know that as a part of your profile you fill our your “Must Haves” and your “Can’t Stands”. At the risk of stating the obvious for those not familiar, “Must Haves” are the features you expect your match to have while your “Can’t Stands” are the qualities you don’t want your match to have.
These different qualities are used early in the communication process at eHarmony to either help you eliminate potential bad matches [...]

If you are reading this I would guess that you’ve tried (and possibly given up) online dating. If you are experiencing feelings that online dating just isn’t worth the effort, I know exactly how you feel. However, I couldn’t disagree more!
I dated online and while I had these same feelings in the beginning, the more I learned and dated, the more success I had. Once I understood the best approaches for dating online, I found [...]

I’ve noticed some sites talking about an eHarmony free trial. I wasn’t familiar with this and obviously would be interested in talking about it here for my readers, so I looked into it.
As far as I can tell, those websites discussing an eHarmony free trial are simply discussing the free features that exist within the site already. In other words, they are suggesting that the normal, everyday, run-of-the-mill version of eHarmony (where you can create your profile and view [...]

Every pay online dating service that I am aware of has a policy where you are automatically auto-renewed at whatever subscription plan you select when first signing up. This means that if you sign up for six months, when your first six months comes to an end they will automatically renew you for another six months.
The dating services present this as a benefit by saying you’ll not miss out on any opportunities. However, that doesn’t make all [...]

A reader recently wrote in with the following question after she had received a large number of emails after signing up for online dating:
The challenge that I have is that when I go online, I get so many views, flirts, im and email requests that it is impossible to finish my profile, search or anything else.
I did hide my profile for now so that I can work on my profile. Thanks. Is there a strategy for handling all [...]

Does eHarmony work? Do people really have success using it? The simple answer is this: yes, it does work and many people have great success, including marriage, using it. While that is the short answer, I think many people are more interested in this question:
Will eHarmony work for me?
That question is harder to answer but I’ll explain my thoughts with the hope that it will assist my readers when choosing whether or not to try eHarmony. If you’re not familiar [...]

Writing online dating messages can be frustrating. Spending the time to write the “perfect” email only to receive no response can cause many of us to ask if we’re doing something wrong.
Below are some online dating message tips, most of which I also cover in my online dating guide. Hopefully these will help you with communicating on online dating services and might even help you realize that a problem you think you have isn’t a [...]
