Earlier this month, I updated my online dating guide to include some of my newer articles. If you downloaded my guide in the last week, you should have already seen these in the ebook. If you downloaded the guide before then, there’s no need to download it again as the following links are the articles that have been added to the guide:
Step-by-Step Online Dating Profile Creation Guide
The Right Way to Encourage Contact in your Dating Profile

Why do men ignore what a woman lists as her requirements for the men in her online dating profile? The woman doesn’t even need to have an unreasonable list of things she’s looking for. It might be one thing if she made it impossible for any man to contact her. But that’s happening. Simple things such as required religion or height or age are often ignored entirely by some of the contacting men.
You say you’re looking for a 20-something college [...]

Match.com vs eHarmony – is one significantly better than the other? In my previous articles I discussed Match.com in great detail and then I did the same with eHarmony. In this article I will look at Match.com vs eHarmony, comparing the two services and make recommendations on which would be the best based on certain situations. Match.com and eHarmony are obviously similar in their goal: to help you find a great relationship. However, they help you accomplish this with very [...]

This post will be a guide to eHarmony. It is the second post in a three-part series where I’m going to discuss in detail using Match.com (see my previous article), eHarmony, and finally I will compare these services to determine which is the “better” of the two. In this article, I’ll be describing eHarmony from the ground up.
For a broader conversation on this dating service, see my eHarmony Review post.
Thoughts on the eHarmony Profile
eHarmony is known for its long sign-up [...]

Does Match.com Work?
I won’t spend too much time on this question mostly because I’m biased: I met my wife using Match.com. I understand if you’re having reservations about giving the service a try (I had the same reservations myself). But I can [...]

In the U.S., Maryland is considering changing the law on how marriage brokering web sites (think “Russian brides”) would work. The idea is that there would be much more controls placed around these sites that could in some way be debilitating to them. Recently I was reading a post that claimed that Facebook was saved by one line of text in this bill (HB65).
Facebook (and services like it) are explicitly excluded as the article correctly points out. However, the [...]

At the risk of getting the cart before the horse, I wanted to share an article I read recently that I liked. This article covers 50 ways to be romantic. I know the majority of my readers aren’t in a serious relationship but I also argue that it’s best to stay positive while you’re dating online (or single in general). With that in mind, I’m going to assume that if you’re not in a relationship currently that you’ll be finding [...]

Online dating most often requires a great deal of patience. My wife met me on her first date using Match.com but she is absolutely the exception, not the rule. That normally doesn’t happen. What normally happens is we sign up for online dating and assume that because we are surrounded by singles that meeting someone will only take a day or two.
Unfortunately, that’s normally just not the case. Sometimes finding a date at all is frustrating and other times finding [...]

This is a common question because the cost of eHarmony is expensive, even compared to other online dating service prices. My opinion is that as long as you are getting a reasonable number of matches, eHarmony is worth the price.
(Learn more: see my eHarmony Review for more details on this service)
As I will present here, I think too many people look at the price tag of eHarmony as money they don’t have to spend. Many wrongly believe that the [...]

Have I mentioned that your dating profile photo is pretty important? Yeah…apparently these folks didn’t get the memo: 25 Weird Dating Site Pictures
Referring to these photos as “weird” is being nice in my opinion. I’m not actually convinced that all of these photos are real. Even if only a few of them are legit that still means there are people out there who think these kinds of photos will work (or there are people creating profiles as a joke). Your [...]

Below is a chart listing online dating site prices. This table has been created to be used as a reference and to give singles an idea of how much each dating service might cost. These prices may change at any time so be sure to verify the actual cost before you subscribe to any service.
Notes on Pricing
Keep in mind that services that charge more often have earned the right to do so. For example, even though eHarmony prices are some [...]
